House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has been removed from his speakership through a motion to vacate initiated by Rep. Matt Gaetz.  The vote marks the end of McCarthy's tenure after only nine months in the House's top leadership position.

Eight Republicans joined all Democrats in a 216-210 vote against McCarthy.  Following the turmoil of a possible government shutdown, the GOP House members have much to do.  What happens next, and who will become speaker of the House?
